- MATERIAL
- Finest denim fabric made from 100% West Indian Sea Island Cotton.
・In order to faithfully reproduce the uneven shape created by the spinning machines used in the 1950s when DENIM FAMILY was produced, we use 7/- for the warp yarn and 14/- for the weft yarn, which are completely custom-made yarns that have been repeatedly trial-spun.
・For warp yarn dyeing, 100% pure indigo synthetic dye without any additives is used on a rope dyeing machine to reproduce the light color and strong bluish color of the time. Light ounce denim from the early 20th century usually uses TOP yarn (a gray color is created at the cotton stage to make the weaving yarn), but in LEVIS from the 1950s, the weft yarn was dyed fairly uniformly even when viewed under an electron microscope, so it was determined that there was a high possibility that it was not TOP yarn, so it was dyed gray with thren dye.
- Regarding weaving, DENIM FAMILY was analyzed using an old power loom, and the density and number of strands is 2/1, making it tightly woven.
・It has a soft, tough and unique texture that can be expected to change over time.

[AUBERGE]
AUBERGE is a brand designed by Slowgun designer Manabu Kobayashi. Using various cultures such as photography, art, movies, music, and architecture as design sources, we combine Japan's world-class fabrics, pattern making, and sewing to continue asking the world about the value of clothing. Not only are we committed to original designs and fabrics, but also to sewing.
We recreate the historical background and technical capabilities of the time when the clothes were made using modern technology, and our items, created with respect for good old clothes, continue to fascinate people.
