Chimayo vest from CENTINELA TRADITONAL ARTS. This is a piece in dead stock conditions from the 1990s.

◎Details
A gilet-type chimayo vest. The front button is a concho button. This concho button uses an Indian motif nickel button that was manufactured in the United States from 1913 to 1938. It also comes with two pockets on the left and right.

This brand was founded in 1982 by Irvin Torfilio, who became independent from ORTEGA'S, in Chimayo Village, New Mexico. Chimayo weaving was born from a unique culture that mixed Native American and Spanish immigrant cultures around the 17th century, and continues to make things by inheriting its traditions and manufacturing methods.
