Tassel moccasins are the representative leather shoes model created by Alden. It all started when Paul Lukas, a Hungarian actor who was active in Hollywood in the 1940s, asked two shoe shops to buy shoes with tassels. Unable to be satisfied with the comfort of the shoes, they asked shoe stores in New York and California again. It was coincidentally Alden that two shoe stores, both East and West, commissioned the production.
In response to this request, Alden invented an original design of shoes, and was born from the first tassel moccasin, which was completed in 1948. Tassel moccasins, which had improved all the quality by the 1950s, were introduced to traditional clothing stores all over the United States over several years, and became a representative model of leather shoes.
